What are Facial Implants?
Dr. Pielet has treated many patients who wanted to enhance their facial profile and symmetry. Facial implant surgeries are procedures that can dramatically enhance your appearance by placing carefully styled implants in key facial areas in order to alter the basic shape and balance of your face and accentuate its most positive features. Facial implant surgery is appropriate for filling out facial features, building up a receding chin, adding prominence to cheekbones or reshaping the jawline most typically for aesthetic reasons to improve the appearance of the cheeks, chin and lower jaw. Generally this operation can also help correct birth defects and heredity issues.
Many times these imbalance(s) may be related to other facial features such as the chin, cheeks or lower jaw and nose which patients sometimes choose to address at the same time. Facial implant surgery is customized for each patient, depending on his or her needs. There is not a universal type of surgery that will meet the needs of every patient. Other procedures such as nose shaping (Rhinoplasty) are often combined with facial implant surgery to improve overall facial harmony.
