Latisse is a FDA approved prescription solution that treats hypotrichosis (inadequate or not enough eyelashes) making them longer, thicker, and darker.
The nightly application is quite simple. A sterile applicator is supplied to deliver Latisse to the upper lid eyelash margin, very similar to cosmetic eyeliner.
The active ingredient (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) was originally prescribed as eyedrops for the treatment of glaucoma. Any infrequent side effects from its use to treat glaucoma (such as lid or iris darkening) have not been experienced with the cosmetic use of Latisse.
The lash improvement is gradual, maximum results may take up to 2 months. The use of any eye make-up is not interrupted during this process.
